Keith Engel, a retired Naval Officer, is the founder and CEO of Mind Meld Psychotherapy (MMP), where he works as a Clinical Social Worker. He graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce and the University of Southern California.
Keith completed his clinical fellowship through the U.S. Navy, where he trained and worked with high-risk individuals, including those facing severe mental health challenges, crisis intervention, and complex trauma. His background has given him extensive experience in supporting individuals in high-stakes environments, helping them develop emotional resilience, crisis management strategies, and long-term coping skills.
As a cisgender gay man, Keith specializes in providing affirming, psychodynamic therapy tailored to the unique needs of men’s health, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and high-risk populations. His approach is insight-oriented, helping clients explore the deeper emotional and psychological patterns that shape their experiences.
For LGBTQIA+ individuals, Keith offers a safe, supportive space to process the intersection of identity, community, and personal well-being. His work also includes supporting men in developing emotional resilience, navigating relationships, and redefining masculinity in ways that align with authentic self-expression.
Keith believes that mental health challenges arise when emotions become overwhelming and are faced in isolation. Using a psychodynamic approach, he helps clients uncover unconscious patterns, strengthen their emotional awareness, and develop healthier relationships with themselves and others. His goal is to provide deep, meaningful therapeutic work that fosters long-term healing and self-acceptance.
MMP is no longer accepting new Medicaid-insured patients due to policy changes. We will continue care for existing Medicaid-paneled patients as they complete treatment.
